DASPLATZ
RED HOOK, BROOKLYN
DasPlatz is a public art initiative dedicated to transforming underutilized spaces into dynamic open-air galleries. Curated by the design studio DASCOOL!, DasPlatz highlights the power of street art and graffiti in reimagining overlooked corners of the city, fostering creativity, accessibility, and community engagement through public art.
In a city where graffiti and vandalism often run rampant, this initiative takes a curatorial approach—spotlighting artists whose roots are in graffiti and who are now exhibited in galleries around the world. By shifting the context, DasPlatz underscores graffiti’s evolution into a respected and influential art form.
Roughly translating to “The Place”, DasPlatz brings together a respected roster of artists for its inaugural exhibition in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Featured artists include RIME (MSK), KEO (XMEN), GREY (PVC), PURE (TFP), and Greg Lamarche (SP.ONE)—all recognized for their lasting contributions to the evolution of graffiti and street art in New York City and beyond.
This first exhibition marks the beginning of an ongoing series designed to activate underutilized urban spaces, creating opportunities for both artists and the public to experience art in an open, accessible environment.
