Na Floresta à Noite (In the Forest of the Night) is a yearlong public artwork by Denilson Baniwa that transforms the facade of Storefront into a luminous Amazonian nightscape. Trees, animals, and ancestral spirits emerge across the surface in a constellation that resists linear time. Drawing from the cosmologies of his Baniwa people and other Indigenous communities of Brazil and the Amazon, Baniwa weaves contemporary and ancestral iconography into a living narrative.

Our studio was brought to refresh the facade from its previous artwork as well as artist painting assistants to help Baniwa’s realize 98′ x 11′ vision on-site.
